Mindfulness

“Mindfulness gives you time. Time gives you choices. Choices skillfully made lead to freedom.”

– Bhante Henepola Gunaratana

Take a moment…

Put your hands to your heart, breathe in deeply to THIS MOMENT.

Take in the sounds around, the sensations upon your skin, feel the Earth underneath you and notice the feelings that all of this elicits. You have slowed down enough to be present, with yourself. Now say to yourself, “I am present, I honor this moment”.

The Present

Mindfulness brings us back to our ability to be present. It allows us to tune in, take a step back and trust ourselves.

The art of mindfulness is an intentional practice that does not come easy. We live our lives in forward motion while constantly stopping to look back to the past. It is our human nature. Looking toward the future or visiting the past is not a bad thing yet sometimes we can get stuck there.

Embracing the gift.

Being present brings a level of awareness to whatever we are feeling, doing, seeing or being.

It allows us to honor the moment with compassion and understanding. We are given this opportunity to root back into the here and now. /p>

We see the world for what it is.

The art of practice..

Being mindfully present every moment of every day is impossible yet when we being to practice the art of mindfulness, it becomes second nature for us to recognize when we need to pause in the moment and reconnect.

We become the conduit to more self-control, objectivity, mental clarity, and emotional intelligence.

We notice that the way we relate to others and ourselves becomes softer and filled with kindness, acceptance, and compassion. We manage stress better and can seem to cope better.

In the end, we can say mindfulness is just bringing you back to an awareness that allows you to live with greater enthusiasm for all the opportunities that life is presenting to you right now.
